Matt Matlas has joined Matcor Inc. as a senior managing corrosion engineer to oversee engineering operations out of Matcor's Gulf Coast office in Houston. Matlas has more than 15 years of engineering and cathodic protection design experience.
Kevin Muldoon and Scott Ryder, operation managers, have been promoted to district sales representatives by Spider, a division of SafeWorks LLC. Muldoon is responsible for solving the suspended access and safety challenges of contractors and facility owners in Ohio, western Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia and eastern Kentucky; while Ryder will be doing the same thing in the Boston area. Karthik Obla, a National Ready Mixed Concrete Association engineer, has received the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Young Member Award for Professional Achievement "for contributions related to performance-based specifications for concrete, fiber reinforced concrete, and the use of ultrafine fly ash in concrete — and for outstanding service as an officer for the San Antonio ACI Chapter."
