Curb Appeal adds commercial units

Curb Appeal International will release its new Pro Curb Series commercial extruded curb line at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas Jan. 23-26. The CLS.900 and the CLS.3000 can be seen in booth S20711 on the second floor of the South Hall.
Vice President Steve Caldwell said commercial machines currently on the market are either too expensive (some up to $300,000) or just not "user friendly."
"With having the success of manufacturing one of the best landscape curbing machines in the market today with our CLS.650X, we ventured out to find a manufacturer that could take the same 'user friendly' attributes of our landscape extruder and take it to the next level in a commercial style curbing extruder."
Caldwell said the "Pro Curb Series" CLS.900 and the CLS.3000 commercial grade extruders can pour a flawless 16-inch radius, as well as fill a trench and form the curb at the same time.
The push of a button allows the CLS.3000 to travel on its own power, by virtue of the rear wheel power system. Another option of the CLS.3000 is the hydraulic jack system that allows you to raise or lower it through rough places.
"All of these functions are controlled from the operator panel located on the steering handle," Caldwell said. "A user can lay curbing right over rebar or take advantage of our 'through auger' options that will lay the rebar right through the center of the curb automatically."
He said other features include:
* The CLS.3000 weighs 985 pounds, making it easy to load and unload.
* No pushing or pulling is required.
* It takes only three people to operate the machine, no more feeding the auger manually.
* The 25 horsepower (hp)engine is capable extruding 65 yards in an eight-hour day realizing upwards of 4,500 linear feet.
* The CLS.900 model is powered by a 15hp Kohler and is manually driven. It has all of the same features of the CLS.3000, but operates at approximately half the speed.
Training programs are available for all customers.
