VIC International has introduced what spokesmen say is the first multi-purpose concrete floor corrections machine in the concrete industry capable of up to 1,000 square feet per hour.
Named the VIC (SM 320) ShaveMaster, the powerful machine was specially designed for concrete contractors. The ShaveMaster uses 50 diamond blades for coatings removal, correcting curled joints and joint repair, slurry cap removal, lippage removal, spalled out areas, concrete grooving for anti-slip and non-skid areas, correcting poorly placed concrete slabs, and paint striping removal. Other end-users include state and national departments of transportation as well as handicap organizations and facilities.
Bill Beres, director of marketing and sales for the VIC surface prep division, said this VIC machine was designed for every floor prep contractor. "It is unparalleled in its problem-solving ability which is unprecedented in the industry," he said. "Nearly every machine we sell, we hear back that it can perform a host of applications beyond what it was originally designed to do.
"One of the truly unique aspects of the ShaveMaster - in addition to all of the industrial applications - is the remarkable attribute that it can help the world become more handicap- friendly. The number of diamond blades can be reduced for grooving ramps and sidewalks, for helping to make blind access areas for the white stick to follow, for areas requiring wheelchair traction, for providing designated anti-slip-anti-skid areas, and other areas designed for personal safety and accident prevention."
The ShaveMaster is self-propelled with both forward and reverse, and coupled with the VIC vacuum system, is an extremely "green' machine at only .003 microns of airborne dust.
The VIC ShaveMaster cuts a maximum 13-inch path powered by its 15 horsepower, 460-volt, three-phase motor. Weighing 716 pounds, the unit features a dial-down crank that provides up to a 1/8-inch cut per pass.
Beres said that from a competitive standpoint, the VIC ShaveMaster does not cause micro fracturing and is less destructive when compared to scarifying and shot blasting methods.
The ShaveMaster is $19,900 and comes with a complete set of blades. A backup set of blades is $3,300.
