Pavilion Technologies sells control solutions to Buzzi Unicem, Ash Grove Cement

Pavilion Technologies (pavtech.com) has just finished installation of its model-predictive control technology in Europe and in the United States.

Buzzi Unicem (buzziunicem.it), an Italian cement company and the world's largest cement producer, will deploy Pavilion Technologies' Pavilion8 kiln control solution on a kiln at its Robilante operations plant. The solution will enable Buzzi Unicem to improve product quality and enhance production, while further increasing the company's use of secondary fuels.

Dott Luigi Buzzi said Buzzi Unicem selected Pavilion's Pavilion8 kiln control solution after achieving successful results at multiple operation sites at Dyckerhoff AG, a German subsidiary company.

One of the largest cement manufacturers in the world with a capacity of 40.5 million tons, Buzzi Unicem boasts 43 cement plants, 471 ready-mix concrete plants and 39 terminals around the globe. Buzzi Unicem is an international, multi-regional group, focused on cement, ready-mix and aggregates industries.

Ash Grove Cement Co. (ashgrove.com) will also deploy Pavilion Technologies' cement control solution on a single dry kiln at its Durkee, Ore. plant. This is Pavilion's 43rd control project in the cement, metals and minerals industry. Currently, Ash Grove Cement operates nine plants in the United States and produces more than 7.8 million tons of cement annually.

Pavilion's cement solution addresses the most difficult challenges facing cement manufacturers including increased customer demands, high energy costs, strict environmental limits and the use of secondary fuels.

Based on Pavilion's model-predictive control technology, the cement solution delivers optimization across key areas of the production process including the vertical raw mill, kiln and cement mill.

In addition, Pavilion provides environmental compliance monitoring and reporting and production performance management. These applications leverage the Pavilion8 software platform for modeling, control, monitoring, analysis, visualization and integration.
