The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) will present the 2005 Achievement Award winners at the TCA annual meeting, held in conjunction with the World of Concrete in Las Vegas on Jan. 20. Malcolm Davis of Australia's TiltBilt will be the keynote speaker.
Davis built his first tilt-up factory in 1972. In 1981, he formed Advanced Building Systems to introduce tilt-up as a modern engineering design and construction solution in Australia and Malaysia. He then became the Australian distributor for Meadow Burke, and continues to actively promote tilt-up.
In addition to acceptance as the ideal method for constructing commercial and industrial structures, Davis will highlight the growing popularity of Tilt-Up for single- and multi-story housing in the Australian and Asian markets.
In other business, nominees for positions on the board of directors will be elected, and a short business meeting will be conducted. The program will end with the presentation of the Tilt-Up Achievement Awards.
The cost to attend the meeting, which will be from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Las Vegas Hilton Convention Center is $75 for TCA members and $95 for non-members. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the program begins at 9 a.m.
